While Lupoi inherited a better roster and is opening at home, Chesney has HC experience, tho not too many Power 4 road wins (zero, I believe). Still, they probably should have beaten a good UVa team on the road last year in what was their only loss.
If we can have some success running the ball and stopping the run and generating pressure, it is likely to come down to who makes the least mistakes. On a neutral field, that would have me thinking we'd have the edge, but on the road? Chesney will need to have us executing at a very high level - I expect Cal may be over pumped up for the game, and if we can execute, we may be able to take advantage.
