Talk about Stockholm syndrome.
But, if it gets us out of KalSupport, it's fine. As has been noted, it's a short trip. I'm not for playing Cal in anything. As Braun said while announcing the basketball game last season "playing UCLA is their superbowl." I guess if we play them regularly, our players will get equally fired up.
On the flipside, with our Johnny Cash "I've been everywhere, man" conference schedule, what the hell are we doing scheduling Hawaii? In 2027, we play at Hawaii. Our next game, with the date TBA, is against Illinois. Hawaii and Champaign are 4,200 miles apart.
Sure hope we have a bye after Hawaii. However, after Hawaii, we go to Illinois, Iowa, and Purdue, consecutively.
5,100 miles to HI and back
3,500 miles to Chicago and back.
3,100 miles to Iowa City and back.
3,500 miles to West Lafayette and back.
Over 15,000 miles traveled, potentially in the span of 22 or 23 days.
Then we get a break, finally, and play at home against ....
Michigan.

at Wisc.
