UCLA managed to proactively remove an incompetent administrator and found a replacement without a consulting firm or hiring committee. That we have a Chancellor that is actually willing to take responsibility for the important decisions that need to be made rather than the usual deflect by committee to ensure that you're never blamed if it goes wrong, is refreshing to say the least.
