Amidst all the hosannas for the new age of Chesney, there were some troubling
aspects, especially regarding Hitschler’s defense …notwithstanding given the Ducks’ presumptive vastly superior offensive talent … was there any justification for at least two obscenely blown coverage TD bombs where a contain DB or whatever wasn’t within a cornfield of the receiver…
Also there was an edge contain where the JMU tackler’s technique was so poor,
he blew a routine stop and the Duck went for 50 yards. Also, besides at least three inopportune false starts, JMU suffered both a blocked punt and a deflected field goal…yes there was that nifty double pass play thst worked …but there were enough errors to give pause ….
Hopefully it will genuinely be a new start today
