And the position would still seem toothless because Nico has thus far shown absolutely ZERO feel for how to work the middle of the field in the intermediate passing game. Those routes are all timing and solid mechanics, and Nico has neither. His No two of his dropbacks look the same, his footwork is all over the place and never looks particularly good. His releases also never look the same, it's like he's still trying to figure how how he wants to throw the ball. The majority of what he is being asked to do in the pass game is short timing routes, but none of his throws appear to be on time and are rarely delivered where the WRs can catch them on the run, which negates YAC which is the key to those plays working. Nico isn't being asked to do a lot and yet, he still looks very uncomfortable (or perhaps incapable), of doing what he's being asked to do.
I really want to like Nico, by all accounts he's a great kid, but thus far, despite have a very good arm, he's shown himself to be a very poor passer.
