They are keeping the seating at the roughly 90K so they can host soccer for the Olympics. After, the plan is to reduce to roughly 70K with bigger aisle space and more leg room.
I've been to so many different venues and I could go on and on about why I personally think the Rose Bowl is a much better venue for Ucla than anything else. If Ucla had an on campus stadium, that would be great, but we all should know that isn't happening. I'm glad to see that the Rose Bowl is making a lot of upgrade changes. Not just for Ucla, but in general.
At the end of the day, Ucla has a fan issue. They do not have enough new fans coming in and replacing older fans. That's one reason why I liked the Tim Harris interview. He seems to understand that. I think they said that Ucla season ticket sales are at an all-time low. While I get the if you win, people come argument, I think there is much more to that. You have to keep growing your base. When I had season tickets in the 2004-2009 era, I could see an issue developing. I always had an issue with Ucla not accepting kids of Alumni even though they met qualifications. The legacy there just wasn't happening and I thought that was concerning.
