As I've mentioned here this past week, Purdue is no walkover and has been hugely UP for this game. It's more than coincidence that UCLA is a late closer, so hopefully Chez can make the necessary adjustments and produce another 2H episode of the Late Show. Adjustments needed to dilute a potent Purdue O scheme.
UCLA is not a 9-3 upper echelon team. More like a 7-5 rebounder from last yr, as I've opined several times. As such, their margin for error is going to be a concern against legit competition. And, Ijeboi is unquestionably legit as an RB. What's surprised me is the strides Browne has made at QB. Scooter has to elevate his pass D game, as we can't float our D ship solely on the sails of Sammy.
Of concern is Purdue gets the 2H kickoff in what has been so far this season, the 2H being the property of the UCLAns.
Tis a beautiful thing to see Newman plant his foot in the turf and then jitterbug to open grass. Hopefully, we see some more of that in the 2N. This has been Nico's best half of the season and hopefully he doesn't turn to peanut brittle in the 2H. Rowe is an ace among our receiving corps in terms of running great routes. He's so adept at getting separation and will be bigly sought after in the 2H.
We put up 313 total yards in the 1H vs only 245 for Purdue. We had a big edge in rushing yards and hopefully can contain Ijeboi in the 2H. I expect a ballburner in the final 2 quarters.
