There are pretty much 4 possible outcomes:
A. A blowout UCLA victory
B. A UCLA victory but not a blowout
C. An Oregon victory but not a blowout
D. A blowout Oregon victory
If I were asked to assign probabilities to each of the above possibilities, they’d be as follows:
A. 2%
B. 15%
C. 65%
D. 18%
To my thinking, ‘C’ would constitute more than a ‘moral victory’. For UCLA to lose, but be competitive against a team ranked #13 at this juncture of the season, on the road and in one of the most difficult stadium environments, would be a confirmation of real advancement in the program.
Whatever the outcome, I’m sure CBC will see that the team processes it in a constructive manner.
