THat's my hope. My money is IRA's so selling it does NOT create tax consequences but obviously nobody wants to be in CD's or money markets for their entire retirement pool of money

It just depends on how far Musk and Trump go. If your retirement is live off your IRA's until you collect social security, with some cash in CD's, and suddenly there's no FDIC, the social security age is raised, and the markets tank, it's a bad trifecta.


So I'm hoping like last time he will do everything he can to prop up the markets. I made money under Trump then, more under Biden but I made money.

The longest shutdown in history was 35 days, under Trump. It resulted in 400K furloughed government workers, hundreds of thousands more not getting paid on time, it cost the US our debt rating which has increased the national debt. ANd Musk and Trump are trying to force a 33 day shutdown now.
