FOX news says more than half the homes in the fire were uninsured as the rate in LA County is about 50% uninsured.
Lending Tree said their estimate is 10% of the homes in LA County are uninsured about 154K out of 1.57 million. The article says they don't know exactly how that relates to the homes in the actual fire area but in general, the percentage of homes with insurance is HIGHER in wealthy areas not lower. In general less populated areas have the highest uninsured rate so based on that the areas that burned would be more likely to be insured.
If you watched the playoff game today that Tom Brady worked the Packers game. At one point during the game they announced that FOX news, who paid 787 million to avoid admitting in court they lied about election fraud, donated a whopping 1 million to the LA Fires. Brady, a Trump supporter, didn't say a word since he no doubt didn't want to give MAGA something to complain about if he expressed concern.
For contrast to FOX, Taylor Swift donated 10 million, the Detroit Lions team and ownership 50 million.
HOw bad does Trump and the GOP look over this now? Well the Miami Herald wrote a story where they call out Trump for all the lies he's told about the LA fires and the total lack of empathy.
Mitch McConnell not only said Trump is wrong, he said "we look like idiots" to the GOP trying to put conditions on aid to California
