I've long contended that a nation that calls its soldiers "warriors" cannot also claim to be a peaceful nation ... which in the light of our propensity to start wars and invade countries to protect a political order or favor backdoor business deals, is kinda redundant thing to say.
What occurred to me yesterday is this: a president who wants the military to have a warrior culture and wants to see soldiers as warriors maybe also sees himself as a warlord in how he rules and plans to personally benefit from the loot his warriors would be bringing from far away lands. Like Greenland. And Canada.
Soldiers. Not warriors.
