All they wanted to do, they achieved months ago, including methodical demolition of structures to help construction when they annex the land, which is why they shifted their gaze to the West Bank, to Lebanon, and other areas of "Greater Israel" a while back. Whatever Israel has still been doing in Gaza since maybe mid 2024 has been a holding pattern waiting to make Biden look impotent, raise the stakes for Harris, and open the crack in the Democratic coalition even wider to make sure Trump is elected. And now that he is, he can act like he brought peace to the middle east (They make a desert and call that peace) and wait for the Nobel committee to give him a call about the Peace Prize, which is the one thing he coveted more than being Time's Man of the Year because Obama.
