Can’t save it to sell as 20+ years because the industry is meticulous about lead times and plans those products out for 20+ years. There would be a glut of 20 years on the market!
They will sell it for whatever they can get to cover costs, and hope for better days. And some will go out of business. Scotland lost 40 distilleries during prohibition. Ireland dived from 130 whiskey makers to 4 over the years, now o the rise.
