Eating something different for breakfast as opposed to lunch and dinner was a completely new notion to me in this country. Has that always been that way in the West or was this societal habit a product of prosperity and awareness of nutrition and health?

That said, I don't remember seeing anyone drinking at 9 AM. 10 AM? Yes.
