Funny story… worked with a guy who played BB in college (maybe Div II) and was a huge BB fan. Anywayour office was on Bunker Hill and there was a cafe across the street where we grabbed lunch. Dude was also a huge fan of Hoosiers. So we order and our waiter comes out with the food and the guy I worked with gives a start and jumps up and says “OMFG YOU’RE JIMMY CHITWOOD!”
We think the guy has lost his fking mind and gone nuts but then we look at him and damn, he looks just like Jimmy Chitwood. At first the guy is kind of like naw, that’s not me but my coworker is all like “NOOOO! YOU’RE JIMMY CHITWOOD!” Guy says he’s not but dude keeps saying you’re him, you’re Jimmy.
We’re kind of like WTF?? Then the waiter finally goes, like yeah, I’m the guy who played Jimmy Chitwood…”
So my coworker has him sign the menu and gives him $50 bucks. But…he wanted him to sign it “Jimmy Chitwood” which was kinda fking bizarre.
The guy who played Jimmy wasn’t an actor when he was cast but decided to give acting a try, ended up waiting tables like a million other actors in LA.
