Last month was 67.8, Consensus DOW forecast was 63, came in at 57 down 10.5, one of the largest drops in more than a decade. Lowest since 2022 at the peak of inflation.

2 days ago when the inflation numbers were lower than expected the guy CNBC had on said the reason the market is selling off on good news is nobody believes the number is true, it will get revised later but we can all see prices have gone up since Jan 20. his last comment was we're all going to be watching the Consumer Confidence number, and he was right as it came in lower.

The guy they had on today said he thinks the reason the markets haven't gone down today is 2 reasons, one they think the confidence number is real so they're glad to see the truth, and two the markets have sold off so far so fast it's oversold so people are buying the dip.

Rampell has been saying for weeks, if Trump had done nothing but play golf and post on TS, the economy and markets would be in great shape. But he's literally put us into a recession in 6 weeks. Officially you need 2 quarters of negative GDP to call it a recession but she said we're very likely already in one, we just can't say that until end of June when we have 2 quarters.
