To me the big fear is that I don't think Musk actually cares if this goes well or not he wants to destroy SSA.
I'm old enough to remember 1994 when the California DMV paid 44 million to get Tandem Computers to rewrite the DMV system and upgrade it. Took years of course and in the end they never cut over. They got close to cut over date several times but never actually did it.
