I don't totally understand bonds to be honest but what I've read is that them dumping those treasuries is what is driving up the 10 year bond yield UP. The MAGAs etc that are trying to say Trump is playing 8D chess kept saying his goal was to drive the yield DOWN so he can refinance the debt for less money. But the opposite is happening because they're dumping all the debt.
The other thing is apparently it floods the market to it hurts the value of the dollar, and makes it even more expensive to get rid of debt
Rampell and a bunch of other people have said they firmly believe that's what caused Trump to blink because his economics people were smart enough to see what was happening and they were very concerned it was going to crush us
