to not give the troll the attention he desperately needs. Not that it would make him go away, but given the kind of insane posts he makes just to be provocative, ghosting him seems to be the best response (in the absence of a moderator stepping in).
It's simply a request that helps make this forum a less rewarding place for his perpetual nonsense.
