What I am reading is she asked them to wait for the court proceedings to complete before they arrested the guy and they refused. So she basically sent them on a "wild goose chase" to walk around so she would have time to complete the proceedings.

They didn't like it so they arrested her and accused her of hiding a guy who was literally sitting in her courtroom
