He keeps saying that Canada is being “subsidized” by the US. Imbeciles like wood talk about an “inflow of money” - this is what sane people call paying for products.
What Trump is referring to is the trade surplus. We buy products like lumber and oil from Canada and we pay for them. That isn’t a subsidy, that is a transaction.
Canada is by far the largest producer of construction grade lumber. Put tariffs on it and they will sell to someone else, and the US won’t have construction grade lumber. Oh well.
