Babbitt was a lunatic, she had rammed the car of the wife of a man she was cheating with. Tried to physically assault the woman. After the wife divorced her husband, Ashlii married him, she had been married at the time herself so she was cheating on her husband as well.
Her husband, on Jan 5, texted her "don't do something stupid and get yourself killed" because he knew she was both stupid and insane. Her husband said she'd become obsessed with the Trump election fraud story and had gone from not very interested in politics to outright obsession. She had told people the morning of Jan 6 she was ready to get violent if necessary
She was breaking through a window at the time she was shot, behind the window were cops, behind them a room that contained several members of Congress they were protecting. The cops warned the crowd SEVERAL times to back off. Much of the crowd had in fact stopped but Babbitt continued through the window despite being told repeatedly to stop. The cop who shot her issued a direct warning before shooting her, she still broke through. The cop was black which is why MAGA is so sure it's murder.
The cop has been inundated with death threats, has been doxed by both trump and Musk, and has had several members of Congress call him a murderer.
Her mom has been arrested multiple times for committing acts of violence at "January 6th vigils".
