That's in Austin?

I was there every year for sxsw (except this year) often with some California T-shirt or another on, and never faced any hostility, covert or otherwise.

(The only time anyone mentioned anything was good natured ribbing when we were holding on to our paper straws and at the end of a show someone said "they're probably from California". It was true, so we laughed. I didn't sense any derision in the comment.)

I'm not doubting the story, just realizing that there's a side to the city that probably goes dormant that week.
