(I personally think that started when DeSantis went after Disney, but that's another story.)
Musk does not seem to quite understand how that relationship works because the model he grew up with, the South African apartheid, did not work that way. His family was rich and white and the oppression worked in his favor. As much as he can romanticize Nazi Germany between his sieg heils, he apparently fails to see the true nature of how political power works once a system crosses over a threshold.
(The sweet irony is, of course, he was instrumental in more ways than one, in moving our politics over that threshold.)
