I haven't watched any of it, but every snippet I've seen shows the military marching in the relaxed route step formation rather than the precise tight formation march you would expect to see in a military parade. I'm sure they know how to march in the more formal manner, and the relaxed march was a choice ... which suggests that at least the military was aware of the optics of this march and decided to make the event look less militaristic and fascistic than it would have been, which is probably why Trump looks bored in all those snippets.
It seems that he wanted a specific look and feel but the army gave him something else. So if anyone has seen the whole thing and want to correct me on that, I'd appreciate it (before I slowly commit to that take).
