Terribly confusing because these things normally come with some kind of public address, and you know how Trump likes to speak and remind everyone that he's the president. All we're getting right now is this weird use of the pronoun "we".
This reminds me how the #1 rule in real estate is to never develop a project with your own money. Like all billionaires, his specialty is to get rich off of other people's work and effort. A small voice in my head says that's what's going on here too, he's just hogging the "credit". The louder voice says it doesn't matter how he got there, he took on the war. We are now a part of it, whether in reality or in appearance.
Now watch all the MAGA people who are protesting that we should not get into another war, pivot over to how Iran must be destroyed in about ... 2 days tops. And watch how fully incognito the Democratic leadership will be, hiding in some remote Idaho town in a shack like they're on their own witness protection program. (Just curious how the nevertrumpwer neocons like Billy Kristol will process this -- heck, do we know where they are ideologically wrt spreading democracy at gunpoint these days?)
