This administration's incompetence may be our saving grace. I suppose they could have shipped him over to El Salvador or Sudan leaving no way to track him, but baby steps, I guess. They could have come up with bogus charges, but that would cede Khalil's fate to courts and embarrass the administration.
His attorney had to argue he's not a flight risk. Huh? Isn't that what they want? Out of the country? Why does he have to surrender his passport? Don't they want self-deportation?
