As examples, let's resurrect lead and DDT.

Adding lead back into gasoline will improve vehicle efficiency and engine performance. Lead was used in paints because it resisted moisture, held color, and improved durability. It imparted properties in glass that no other chemical could.

DDT was safe, effective and long lasting. After application it's insect killing properties persisted, but as it also killed beneficial insects, birds and fish it was banned.

I could go on and include Chlordane, Lindane, and Methyl Bromide, but I don't want to give Trump's sheeple any ideas.

During the 1950's I worked during the summer and on weekends as a salesperson at a retail nursery. I remember selling some of those dangerous chemicals, including arsenic trioxide, which was used as a soil sterilant. Nobody thought too much about it at the time, but that changed as the collateral damage became evident.
