Georgia did a trial run on work requirements that are similar to what the GOP is proposing. In the trial period they paid 94 million dollars, and only 26 of it went to actual benefits because the hidden costs of the administration to verify employement status etc is so high. In multiple instances fully eligible citizens went as long as 3 months without coverage due to paperwork mistakes or backlogs.
the amount of money states would have to pony up to ensure they can handle the administration would cost too much to make sense.
it's not about money it's about cruelty.
