Pretty much where I stand although on the LGBTQ thing I think what I want is equality. I don't want gay friends of mine to live in fear of having their marriages ruled illegal for example.

The best way I can explain it is an interview with Jeff Probst the host of Survivor a few years ago. He was directly asked every season of Survivor has had at least one and usually more than 1 gay person on the show, why the emphasis on gays? ANd Probst rolled his eyes and said what percentage of Americans are gay? We have 22 players every season(I forget the exact number but it's over 20), so statistically having at least 1 gay player every season is not an emphasis at all it's just reality. That's my perception of how things ought to be.

I went to HS with a girl who just recently lost her position as assistant Dean in charge of inclusion at U of Georgia. She's still a professor there but the inclusion position was taken away because they complied with Trump on DEI. She's half black half hispanic. When she posted it on FB one of the biggest Trumpers we all went to school with replied I'm so sorry that happened to you why did it happen? During the exchange it came out the trumper did not know that the I in DEI was inclusion! I don't think she's out of the ordinary I think lots of Trump supporters support whatever he says to with no idea what it is. Notice you don't hear anything about Critical Race Theory anymore? Trump stopped talking about it and so did they.

But yes I think the Dems need to get back to basics. I think the biggest thing is the Dems have to learn how to call out the lies the GOP spreads without appearing to be holier than thou.
