Had that discussion the other day with a guy I was selling a fly rod too(he brought it up not me). He had an interesting take IMO.
He thinks Trump is so hated by opponents and loved by the cult that he takes all the oxygen and all the bad stuff too. When Trump is gone as others said Jr and Eric will try and step in but they're both morons and neither one is in office. Vance is smart enough to do what Thiel and Yarvin want the problem is Trump is a human shield for all the a holes behind this autocracy. With Trump gone, suddenly Thiel and Yarvins' name and involvement will be MUCH more front and center, they can't hide behind Trump.
With Trump gone there will be a power struggle and MAGA will splinter, and he pissed off ones won't just focus on Dems they will focus on Thiel and yarvin and the rich oligarchs.
So he thinks it won't be pleasant but that MAGA will tear itself apart with Trump dead.
Guy has some really fascinating takes his brother works in "intelligence" and he said they were quite up front if Harris had won they would have spent her entire term stopping attempts on her life. There were literally a dozen plots stopped in just the time she was running and there were hundreds of "bad actors" on their radar if she had won.
He thinks I'm crazy he said if I had a valid passport for NZ I'd have been there for months already.
