don't have any ideas on the table as to what would replace that other than that dumb "buying health insurance across state lines" thing they floated initially. 15 years later, still no alternative other than the notions of what a potential plan might be or whatever nonsense the senile king mumbled about a year ago during his campaign.

OTOH, yeah, he should have at least pushed for a public option. All he did was to lay some ground rules for the existing private insurance driven system and provide financial help for those who can't afford any insurance. It was just a few minor tweaks around the edges without disturbing the fundamnetal dynamics of what was there in the first place. And yet, Republicans still can't stop losing their minds over it.
