You need innings.
At the end, you have to get 9 innings from
Snell who pitched 116 pitches 2 or 3 days ago.
Yamamoto who pitched 96 pitches the previous day.
Sasaki had 35 pitches the previous day
Glasnow who had been pitching terribly (3.7 ws era)
The next guy out of the pen was Kershaw who would have walked in the winning run if the BlueJays runner didn't swing at ball 4 and had not played well in the playoffs (17.14 playoff era)
If you think you might get a good inning out of Shohei, you take it. At least he's been in big games, especially in Japan.
