I think this may be the beginning of an actual schism in MAGA: a division between those who were emotionally invested more in the worldview they've constructed for themselves than in Trump as a personality. I think she's genuine when she comes across as an advocate for the abused women.
If this is a developing scheme, it sounds very much like how both Trotsky and Stalin considered themselves Leninists and did not have anything negative to say about the big guy himself. MTG has said a lot of things about a lot of Republicans but thus far has never pointed a single finger at Trump himself. It will be telling if and when she starts talking about how Trump is being misled by people who surround him.
She has a forceful personality. If she strays, it will have more impact on MAGA than the never-Trumper defection. (MTG has also been on a tear against Laura Loomer, though how much of that is antisemitism or her anti-Israeli position, I don't know.)
Nancy Mace has been surprisingly gutless though. She has powerful story of abuse personally, and she has signed the discharge petition (along with MTG, Messie, and Boebert) and yet she's not overtly speaking about it as much, and if she has, I must have missed it (I won't even bring up Boebert because she's a complete airhead).
