Also China has been building much more energy production than us. Not just coal but also solar and wind that Trump is killing.
The big issue for the US in AI is we don't have enough electricity or water to run all the data centers. We were just in the bay area Tues, there's 3 big data centers in Santa Clara near Nvidia's HQ that are completely empty. Santa Clara has city power not PGE, and they don't have enough capacity so those data centers will sit empty for several years apparently. That's happening all over the country.
China's AI apparently needs less compute power too
