In case it wasn't mentioned earlier, one of the companies involved in the other bid to buy Discovery that Netflix won, is a company owned by Jared Kushner! Trupm is signaling he won't approve the Netflix merger, despite them winning the bidding, because he wants the group his son in law, and Nepo baby Ellison are involved in to win.

So basically Netflix has to decide if they bribe Trump not knowing if even the bribe would matter.
