BLS reported core CPI at 2.6 and overall 2.7, in a remarkable coincidence the day before the site Truflation reported their core "truflation" number as .... 2.6. Note Truflation does NOT use the same numbers BLS does they're not a government orgnanization it's a company.
Trumps team was citing Truflation earlier in the year because their number was lower than the BLS numbers but then the CEO of Truflation went on X and said outright, the BlS numbers are "not real", so they stopped using them.
But it would appear they just took the core CPI number right off Truflation and worked backwards from that to get their CPI number. and again, if you don't have data, just put 0 for inflation on it. There's 22 lines on the chart they use to do the report, BLS had data for THREE of them, gas, new cars and used cars. They guessed or put zero on the rest of the chart
