yes there apparently was HUGE fraud in Minnesota and much of it involved daycare centers but youtuber 23 year old Nick Shirley made a video where he accused 10 of them of millions in fraud and went to 9 of them and filmed demanding to see the children. It went viral Shirley is now a right wing hero. Apparently none of them stopped to think that day care centers don't let random 23 year olds in with a camera to see children.
The state went into all 9 that Shirley filmed and surprise, all 9 of them were operating actual daycares with actual kids and actual records. All of them had been investigated by the state and were fully licensed.
And then Nick Shirley's mom, I am not making it up his mom, Brooke, went on NewsMax to defend her son against allegations he lied and she repeated the same stuff.
And now surprise, the Shirleys are being sued for defamation and have reached out to Republicans asking for legal help.
But wait there's more Nicks mom dad and 2 other family members are under investigation in federal court for a massive money skimming scheme. they ran a company that handled billing for gyms all over the country, as part of that they took 6% off the top and were supposed to pay the rest to the gyms. Instead they were skimming the money and pocketing it. Many of the gyms went BK and in BK court in Utah they realized the same payment company was involved in many of them and that started the investigation of the Shirleys
So surprise, they're now reaching out to Republicans for legal aid as they're both being sued for defamation and they need to defend themselves in their federal case.
