he had in promoting the broken glass theory of policing back in the day,
I listened to his Revisionist History podcast for quite some time (until I got tired of it), and I have to say, I do find some of his observations and statements insightful. Although his general shortcoming is that he generally has a strong affinity for points of view that fall outside of the conventional wisdom, which I think is the root of my ambiguous relationship with him: sometimes the conventional wisdom is off the mark and it feels like he just nails it, and other times, maybe not so much that the conventional wisdom in an area is really solid, but that his counter feels underworked or not convincing enough.
In a way, he lives and dies by his love for unconventional takes.
