This may be a case of all X are Y, but not all Y are X. But, it doesn't really read that way. And, you said "So what do white parents and kids do?". Feels like a lot of blanket statements to me.
Yes, we've been down this road before. My perspective is you go through times where you're specific and times when you use blanket statements. This is looking like blanket-statement-time to me. Peace.
