primary? I can understand the logic (such as it is) when it comes to major party nominees (only two parties, coz what else is there?) but primaries? Anyone can run for primaries. A candidate does not represent any group specifically until they win their primary. The rule supposedly applies to candidates running for a public office. But that's not what Talarico is running for. He's running for the job to run for the office. He's a layer removed from what this rule applies for.
