I don't care so much whether he's buying his election, but I don't like the notion that he should start at the top. He hasn't served a day in elective office and he wants to be Governor. It smacks too much of "I'm rich, therefore I know how to do everything. It was this or opening a brain surgery practice."
I'd feel a lot different about Steyer had spent some time as Lt. Governor, Controller, or somewhere in a legislature.
Also, one of the things Trump has taught me is that there is no way for a billionaire to not have significant conflicts of interest in most of the decisions he makes. And they can't recuse themselves from everything.
