Think he doesn't have any power to do anything.

By law, the president does not control how elections are run

In the U.S., state and local governments run elections — not the federal government or the president. The Constitution and federal statutes give the president no authority to “take over” or unilaterally change how states count votes or hold elections. Courts would almost certainly block any attempt to seize that authority.

Legal experts widely agree that a national emergency order to commandeer elections would face immediate constitutional challenges and likely fail.

Bottom line: There’s no lawful mechanism for Trump (or any president) to simply “cheat” and force a victory

The U.S. electoral system has protections

American elections are decentralized and have multiple checks:

Elections are run locally, with bipartisan officials handling ballots and counts.

Courts have repeatedly blocked overreach.

Independent election administrators (of both parties) are committed to securing the process.

These features make large-scale interference or manipulation difficult to execute practically.
