The Dow is down 1.7% and the S&P 500 is off 1%. That’s hardly dramatic. We’ve seen far larger single-day and weekly swings well before this attack.
If anything, European markets are taking the bigger hit—down roughly 6% over the past two days—likely driven by rising oil prices. Even so, European equities have posted stronger returns this year, giving them more cushion to absorb the pullback.
So far, the U.S. market’s reaction has been essentially “meh.”
If there’s a real concern on Wall Street, it’s not this war—it’s whether AI stocks are overvalued. At the moment, though, the market appears largely indifferent to the geopolitical developments.
