and that would have been good for her, honing some skills along the way, see what the executive branch really looks like. But I think there's some rivalry between her and Newsom, so she doesn't want to cede that ground to him in '28. She probably also sees governorship as a step-down. It's a pity because she comes to California with much better name recognition and more focused goodwill than any other candidate out there.
If only there was a party leadership that carried any weight at all.
