I want our next governor to not only be able to *govern*, but also to be willing and able to attack and fight Trump, as Newsom has. Porter would be great at that, but those stories about her are definitely of concern.

I was never hot for Swalwell in this race, in part because I think it's tough to be effective going from a legislative job to an executive job (Obama being an obvious exception). But even putting that aside, nothing he's said or done excites me.

Many of the others have some good and bad about them. Villaraigosa is good, but made some significant mistakes as mayor of L.A. Yee came across in the first debate as out of her league. Tony Thurmond came across well in that 1st debate, and I'd consider voting for him if I thought he could win in the General in November. Steyer has done some good things, but actually being governor is a whole different ball game, as has been discussed in this thread. And as for Becerra, I like the guy, BUT... Have you seen his latest TV ad? It's HORRIBLE! I can't imagine any undecided voter watching that ad and thinking, "I should vote for that guy."

And as for that first debate, Hilton came across as a smarmy, sarcastic, blowhard, full-of-himself British TWIT. (The other R candidate, the sheriff, wasn't there.)

*sigh* What to do on June 2nd?
