This was a really well done series by Ken Burns.
It was done in 2022, but I was pretty busy that year with everything coming out of shutdown and didn’t catch it then, but was re-airing on PBS.
One of the themes was how U.S. immigration policy prevented us from giving asylum to refugees who were later murdered by the Nazis. It also tells the story of the US War Refugee Board whose intervention saved hundreds of thousands of lives later in the war.
At the end a poignant warning about the mortal danger of white supremacism and the real possibilities of future genocides. Also a bit on the coining of the term, “genocide” which entered the English language in the last century.
Anyway, well worth a watch.
Aged very well I think.
