is the one person that I fear the most. The rest (Rubio, Vance, Don Jr) are a joke.
The thing with Carlson is that he has the ability and the know-how to pivot in just the right way. He can talk about how he doesn't like that Israel is dominating our foreign policy agenda yadda yadda, but he can very easily flip the script and make it all about the existential danger posed by islam and how the middle-east cannot be allowed to exist as the locus of this vile religion that stands aginst all the inherent goodness of the Judeo-Christian tradition, and bingo! He could end up reconfiguring the Trump coalition in a much smarter way, shifting the movement from one that conflicts with zionism to one that's fundamentally anti-islamist.
If we've known anything about these segments of the right, especially the Christian right, it is their ideological malleability once they see access to power. They are very capable of doing the same kind of mental acrobatics it took them to support Trump despite his monumentally unchristian qualities and immoral lifestyle. Once they see an advantage in supporting Carlson, they will find a way.
