come up with how the shooter is a Democrat. Not a lefty, not a socialist, not an anarchist, not a mentally disturbed individual (which turns out to be the standard profile of shooters), but a Democrat. The whole point is to constantly link "Democrat" with "violent" and "danger to society". It's a deliberate action, which I'm sure, is leading to some payoff down the line.
And every time there's a shooting, we stop hearing any new information about them after the initial claims. No real info actually shared as a follow up. Because very likely, each of them turns out to be a disturbed individual acting alone and for reasons that cannot be shoehorned into the kind of politics the public can process.
We are a very violent society filled with a lot of frustrated people who lose it at some point. Public shootings were the thing for a while, they lost their impact. School shootings were the next trend, we also got desensitized with that. So now we're back to going after people who have the attention of the nation 24/7. Once we stop caring about that, they will find another type of target.
We are a profoundly sick nation and we're utterly unwilling to face our malaise.
