The judge, Lewis A. Kaplan, later clarified that what the jury found Trump did does qualify as “rape” in the ordinary, everyday meaning of the word, even if it didn’t meet the specific legal definition used in that case.
In a later ruling, the judge also said that calling Trump’s actions “rape” was “substantially true.”
